Play Word Wheel

How Word Wheel puzzles work, how to use the centre letter, and how to spot longer answers.

Word Wheel gives you a ring of letters around one required centre letter. The aim is to make as many valid words as possible, usually with every answer using the centre letter at least once.

How to play Word Wheel

Start by combining the centre letter with common prefixes, suffixes, and letter pairs from the outside of the wheel. Then look for longer words by rearranging promising shorter answers.

Check the puzzle rules before starting: some versions require a minimum word length, allow each letter only once, or include one long target word that uses every letter. Work methodically through vowel positions and common endings such as -ed, -er, -ing, and -s, keeping only real words that satisfy the centre-letter rule.
