Four Fours is a number puzzle where every expression must use exactly four 4s. Players combine them with operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, brackets, square roots, factorials, or decimal points depending on the rules.
How to play Four Fours
Begin with simple building blocks such as 4 + 4, 4 * 4, 44, and 4 / 4. Then combine those blocks to move toward the target while keeping count of all four 4s.
Agree the allowed operations before comparing answers, because permissive rules make many targets much easier. Use brackets to control order of operations, look for ways to create 1, 2, 8, 16, and 44, and check at the end that the expression contains exactly four 4s.
