I remembered I already have a bracket that goes onto the reversing gearbox for adjustment, but it has a bolt welded to it in an inconvenient place. I've cut that off, and have prepared a piece of 10mm steel rod by threading one end to M8. I will screw a clevis end on to this, and weld a tab on to the frame, and then you can adjust the length of this link by adjusting how far the clevis is screwed on. And the other end of the rod will be welded to the bracket.

I've also turned down two of the wheel spacers to fit the pit bike wheels. One of them went in with almost 0 clearance and I glued it in with green Loctite. The other one was quite tight so I hammered it in, but it got tighter as it went further in, and by the time I was finished it was very tight indeed. The result of this is that it has been squashed slightly, so now the inner diameter is too small for the 25mm shaft to pass through. So I have been trying to file, sand, and polish the inside of this bore to try and make it fit, but so far without success. Very annoying.
