Unfortunately the lower chain interferes with one of the gearbox mounting bolts, annoying:
I am tempted to try to use a very thin nut and work with this as is. Alternatively changing the sprocket sizes would help, would just need a longer piece of chain.
And starting to mock up the leaf springs:
If the front leaf spring mount is all the way at the front of the chassis then the link at the rear leaf spring mount interferes with the cross member. I don't mind making the car smaller, and a shorter wheelbase is beneficial for steering, so probably just mount the spring further back, potentially trim off excess chassis rail later.
Making this change in CAD moved it from a 1.81m wheelbase to 1.74m. According to Martin's measurements of the John Haynes 750 special it has a 2.06m wheelbase and 1.0m front track and 1.1m rear track.
My rear track comes to about 1.2m I think, so my car is shorter and wider.
