Hello, my name is James Stanley and I enjoy playing with software, electronics, 3d printing, puzzles, CAD, CNC, chess, clocks, metalworking, cryptography, science, engineering, steganography.

The posts on this blog serve as a record of what, and how, I was thinking, at the time they were written.

Sometimes I write because I have something to say and sometimes I write because I have to say something. Sometimes I write to figure things out. Sometimes I write to mark where I’ve been. Sometimes I write in hopes of connecting with someone who is tunneling towards the same ideas from another direction. Sometimes I don't really know why I write but I feel compelled all the same. Sometimes I regret it.
